About Us
Arza Garlinghouse, 52, relocated to Lewiston, Idaho in 1903 and opened Lewiston Marble and Granite
Works. Arza grew up in Kansas and was taught to be a stonecutter by his father, who had learned the
trade prior to the Civil War. The business has been located on Lewiston’s Main Street ever since. It has
moved several times but has always remained on Main Street. The business has been passed down
from Arza to his son Arthur, to his son Richard (Dick), and finally to his son Jac. The business moved to
its current location, 1603 Main Street in 1945 and changed its name to Garlinghouse Memorials.
Dick’s wife Eldora, also worked in the business for over 50 years. In 1988 both Dick and their son Jac, died. Eldora
continued running the business until her retirement in 1991 when the business was sold to Gary and Kay
Stilson also owned and operated Colfax Monument in Colfax, Washington. In 2019, Gary & Kay
retired, selling both businesses to long-time employee Sheyanna Weber. Sheyanna and her team are
committed to continuing the Garlinghouse tradition of excellence in quality, doing all the work locally in-
house and putting the customer first. They are knowledgeable in all aspects of cemetery work, onsite
engraving, monument installation, restoration, and cleaning. We look forward to helping families
Celebrate the Life of their loved ones.
